FEA Academy is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
This website, www.fea-academy.com, is operated by FEA Academy, founded and directed by Dominique Madier. FEA Academy offers Finite Element Analysis training, coaching, books, and consulting (under the Simulation Experts brand).

2. What we collect and why
We only collect personal information that you choose to give us, plus anonymous statistics if you accept analytics cookies.
Contact form
When you send a message, we receive your name, email address, the subject you choose, and your message. We use them only to answer you. The form is processed by Formspree, which forwards your message to us by email.
FEA Competence Diagnostic
Your answers to the 12 questions are sent to our server and to an artificial intelligence service that generates your personalized report. To view your results, you enter your first name, last name, and email address. We record these details with your competence level, suggested learning path, and scores in a Google spreadsheet, to send you your report and keep a record of completed diagnostics. Your email address is used to send your diagnostic report; we do not add it to a mailing list without your agreement.
Website statistics (Google Analytics)
If, and only if, you click "Accept analytics" in the cookie banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site: pages visited, time on page, approximate location (country or city), browser, and device type. Advertising features are turned off. If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. See Cookies below.
Emails you send us
If you write to us directly, we keep your email and our reply to follow up on your request.
3. Services operated by other companies
Some services linked from this website are operated by other companies, which collect and process your information under their own privacy policies:
- Online courses: enrollment, payment, and course access on Thinkific.
- Books: hardcover orders and delivery on Lulu; eBook purchases and downloads on DPD.
- Newsletter: Beyond the Mesh subscriptions on Substack.
- Call bookings: free calls and consulting sessions booked on Calendly.
- Videos and social networks: YouTube, LinkedIn, and Spotify, when you follow a link to them.
We recommend reading the privacy policy of each service before using it.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
This website uses as few cookies as possible:

You can change your choice at any time with the link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw your consent, the Google Analytics cookies are deleted.
When you visit another website from ours (for example Thinkific, Substack, or YouTube), that website may set its own cookies under its own policy.
5. What we never do
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not share your information with third parties for their marketing.
6. How long we keep your information
We keep your information only as long as needed for the purpose for which you gave it: to answer your message, to provide your diagnostic report and keep a record of it, or to follow up on a project with you. You can ask us at any time to delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- have it corrected or deleted;
- withdraw your consent, for example to analytics cookies or to receiving emails from us;
- object to certain uses of your information.

8. Security and international transfers
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, and the website is served over a secure (HTTPS) connection. Some of the service providers mentioned above are located outside your country, for example in the United States; they process information under their own security and privacy commitments.

This website contains links to other websites. Once you leave our site, we have no control over those websites and are not responsible for the protection and privacy of any information you provide there. Please read the privacy policy of the website in question.
10. Changes to this policy
